Healthy at Every Age
Remember when the teacher would pick 2 people to make up the teams in gym class? Well, I was often the last one chosen (or close to it). It was such a crappy feeling. I never played on any sports teams and I wasn’t naturally fast or able to pick up sports skills quickly. I grew up telling myself that I was smart, not sporty.
I may not be destined to win any Olympic medals (well, maybe I have a chance at breakdancing), but that doesn’t matter at all. It took me many years to realize that “being sporty” isn’t just for those with a natural aptitude. It’s something that everyone can and NEEDS to do to be healthy, whether you were a high school athletic superstar or the last to be chosen in gym class like me.
In my 40’s, I have discovered that I enjoy strength training. Not only has it helped me get stronger and healthier, it has also had a big positive impact on my self confidence. It doesn’t matter what anyone else is lifting or how many pushups they can do, it’s all about challenging myself. And it feels really good to see myself be able to do things over time that I couldn’t before.
You’ve likely heard about all of the benefits of strength training, especially after the age of 40, to help your metabolism, your health and quality of life. Maybe you are feeling a bit intimidated about where to start though. Maybe you don’t know what exercises to do. Maybe you are a busy mom like me and don’t know where you will fit it into your already full schedule. Maybe you worry that you are already too old to start doing something like that. Possibly you are hesitant because of joint pain or restricted mobility.
My FASTer Way program takes care of all of that! It includes:
30 minute workouts that guide you through exactly how to do the moves safely
Provides options in each workout for different levels and abilities
Can easily be done at home or at the gym with limited equipment and on your own schedule
Has brand new workouts each week so you never get bored and continue to challenge different muscles
In addition, I also teach you what to eat to fuel your body optimally for your stage of life, while supporting and encouraging you along the way.
It’s not about doing something for 30 or 60 days and then wondering what to do next. It’s about learning what you need to do to be able to implement a healthy lifestyle FOR LIFE. The right approach to nutrition and exercise is an essential piece to build a strong foundation for your health.
If I could go back in time, I would tell my school age self that she is capable of so much. That “sporty” can look lots of different ways. That there will be bumps along the way, but it’s possible for life to keep getting better and better if she keeps believing and investing in herself.
