How to Face Life’s Challenges and Come Out Stronger

This week, I’ve been reflecting on a big milestone - it has been five years since I sold my multi-disciplinary clinic in the height of COVID (that timing was coincidental), and transitioned to running a virtual Naturopathic practice and coaching women in nutrition and fitness to help them master the transition into menopause and beyond. It felt like such a big leap at the time, but looking back, I have zero regrets.

I’ve felt this at other times in my life too.

When I had frozen shoulder (also in the height of COVID), I feared the pain would never go away. Thankfully with acupuncture, massage, osteopathy and strength training, it did.

When our second oldest son was very sick for 10 months in 2023 with no answers, I worried endlessly about him and what could be done to figure out what was going on. The answer came in an unexpected way, after trying just about everything, but I am happy to report he is totally fine now.

In the moment, these struggles felt like they would last forever. But the truth is, everything shifts—even if sometimes it feels painfully slow.

More than just my biceps and my hair colour have changed in the last 5 years!

Every experience and every bit of information takes us further in the direction we are meant to go. And when we come out the other side, we are different. We are stronger.

I was recently interviewed on the podcast “Wellness Decoded” about all things hormones—how HRT and natural approaches can help with mastering menopause, and why the foundation of wellness in this stage of life starts with the right nutrition and focus on strength training. You can listen to the podcast here

And I truly believe that the habits we create in our daily lives—the ones that support our health, our mindset, and our strength—help us weather whatever life throws our way. Whether it’s a health challenge, shifting hormones, or an entirely unexpected life event, the answer is always the same:

You don’t need to take massive steps or do all things perfectly. You just need to take consistent ones. And don’t feel you have to do it alone. We all need coaches or mentors or experts to help make the process of figuring out the next step easier.

One day, you’ll find yourself standing firmly in the “after.” And you’ll realize just how strong you’ve become.

Sending you encouragement for whatever season you are in. Know that you are not alone - and I am here to help,
