I Wish All Of These Gifts For You
We may not be able to make more time, but we do have choices about what we say yes to and how we choose to spend the time we do have.
We can’t make the apology happen (how I would like this to be true!), but we can work to forgive even without it so that we don’t get consumed with anger and hurt.
It would be great to have a real conversation with our 15 year Labradoodle, but I think he kind of does talk to me when I slow down and really look and listen.
Creating a feeling of peace can be tough with all the noise in the world, but it’s still possible to find moments of it. Like that wonderful feeling when doing Shavasana at the end of a yoga practice or the calm that comes from going for a walk or taking a few minutes to meditate or stopping to enjoy my kids laughing and playing.
We all deserve the freedom of letting go of the quest for perfection (this one is totally within our control). It’s impossible to achieve and only holds us back. The beauty happens in our quest for progress over perfection.
I don’t think we need to be free from fear (although that would be nice). That’s kind of like asking to be perfect. I think that being brave is taking action despite the fear (the fabulous book “The Four Winds” reminded me of this).
And I do love a pair of good socks. I hope you all get a nice, warm pair of new socks this year. Which of these gifts speaks to you?
